Meet our Team
It is our pleasure to welcome you to Baby Blessings Preschool and Playgroup, and we hope that your tour of our website will be warm and welcoming!
Anne and Chantal, a mother and daughter team, are the proud owners of Baby Blessings, a fully registered, Christian based Preschool and Playgroup in Lonehill near Fourways, where we strongly believe that “Children are precious, a gift from above”. We strive always to “Guide them and teach them, and bless them with love.” We first opened our doors in January 2005, as a small and intimate playgroup, and have since expanded to include our 3 senior preschool classes.
With a combined 27 years of experience in the childcare industry, we are committed to focusing on each child’s individual needs, and at all times providing a personal and professional service to our parents.
Our team of Teachers:
Teacher Benita – Our School Manageress.
My name is Benita, and I am the class teacher for the 3 – 4 year old children here at Baby Blessings Preschool and Playgroup. Graduating from Bella Alexandra Nursing College with a Diploma” in General Nursing and Midwifery, provided me with extensive experience in both the Private and Government Hospitals on a senior level. I then went on to study and obtained a Diploma in Community Nursing at Wits University. This was followed by a Degree in Administration and Education at UNISA.
After the birth of my two children, I opened up my own Parent and Child Centre and Nursery School, specialising in antenatal, and postnatal classes, a well baby clinic, as well as a crèche for 0 – 3 year old children. In addition to the existing children at the school, I also had the opportunity of working with several special needs children, referred by paediatricians in the area.
Eight years later, I retired to spend more time with my children, and in 2010, I joined Baby Blessings.
After a wonderful and rewarding 35 years of working with babies and children, I continue to embrace my passion for educating the holistic child, focusing on the social, emotional, physical and cognitive aspects of each child.
My aim: “To ensure that the children leaving my care are confident, secure and able to cope with any learning environment they might find themselves in.”
Hi everybody! My name is Teacher Donna. I am looking forward to the little ones in my class becoming “like my own children” for the year.
I am the eldest of 3 girls and so it’s natural for me to help, nurture, protect, encourage and support those in my care. I have a heart for children, love to see them grow, to learn and achieve.
Our family moved to Ireland in 2005, where I studied Foundations for Childcare through the School of Practical Childcare College.
Returning to S.A in 2007, I took up au pairing which I have done for 8 years now. I was also the Teacher for the 2 – 3 year old age group at a Nursery School in Sandton, and am currently studying towards my Childhood Development Teaching Diploma.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead, helping and assisting my class to reach their age related goals/skills in a fun, exciting & happy environment.
Hi everybody, my name is Teacher Zhanelle.
I am a mom of two children ages six years and four and a half months. I have been teaching at Baby Blessings for almost 5 years now and have worked with children from all age groups.
My previous childcare experience includes remedial teaching, as well as working as an aftercare teacher for the older children. My love and passion for children started while I was still in high school where I assisted during the holiday school programme at a Preschool in my home town, Nelspruit. I have been working with children of all ages in one way or another ever since.
My other passion is animals and I am very involved in animal charity work. In my spare time I like to volunteer at animal shelters and help out with any animals in need in townships all around JHB.
I look forward to a blessed and fantastic year ahead with your little ones here at Baby Blessings!
Hi Moms and Dads,
My name is Teacher Courtenay!
My journey into teaching started when I was 15 years old where I became a Sunday school teacher for the ages of 18 months – 5 years. I was a teacher in the church for 4 years.
Later I became an English Tutor helping a little boy from Zimbabwe to speak and understand English. I did that for a few months. Once that was completed I became an aupair for a year where I helped children with their homework and projects and while doing this I was studying for my certificate in reception year teaching.
I felt at this time, aupairing and studying teaching where I was not in the field was a struggle so after a year I resigned and went into full time teaching from 2009.
At that time I had completed my studies and received my certificate and later studied for my certificate in Multicultural Education.
I am currently studying towards my Child Day Care Diploma which is almost complete.I have been a nursery school Teacher for 8 years now and have had experience in all age groups. However, I am fully devoted to the younger age group as they give me joy, a challenge, and I love watching them grow and prosper.
I enjoy teaching, as I have the opportunity to enrich young children’s lives in a loving and nurturing environment!

The Child Care & Preschool Teacher Poem
Although I am not their parent, I care for them each day.
I cuddle, sing & read to them. And watch them as they play.
I see each new accomplishment And help them grow and learn.
They come to me for comfort. I soothe away their tears.
They proudly show their work to me. I give the loudest cheers.
No, I am not their parent, But my role is just as strong.
I know some day the time will come, When we may have to part.
But I know each child I have cared for, Is forever in my heart.
